Kokoro Mixed Martial Arts Gyms offer those with an interest in Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) and Freefight the opportunity to train in a structured and realistic manner.
- Striking
- Takedowns
- Grappling
- Ground Fighting
Our coaches draw on the techniques and principles from multiple full contact arts. Our students and fighters learn to control the standup, clinch and ground ranges. MMA is not an excuse to ignore full and extensive training (as some MMA pretenders would have us believe), and Kokoro Mixed Martial Arts gyms are fully equipped for the task.
Participation in this fantastic sport does not necessitate the total dismissal of traditional martial values, training methodologies and practises. We utilize the training methods of fighters and champions, past and present.

In order to become a true mixed martial artist, one must become proficient in a mixture of effective techniques and strategies. If we can learn to manipulate the five strategic aspects of all round fighting (Open Range Striking, Clinch Range Striking, Takedowns, Submissions and Ground Striking) then then we put ourselves in a position to bring about a positive outcome to physical conflict.
Don’t be fooled by con men and amateurs who claim they can help you to ‘bypass all that hard work and training’. It just doesn’t work that way.
Kokoro Gyms offer technical training derived from a number of disciplines, including;
- Boxing,
- Kickboxing,
- Muay Thai,
- Kyokushin (Full Contact Karate),
- Greco Roman Wrestling,
- Submission Grappling,
- Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ),
- Catch Wrestling,
- Sambo,
- Judo.
Kokoro Mixed Martial Arts was founded on 30th of August, 2005.

Mixed Martial Arts training in a stable environment develops confidence, fitness, respect for fellow man and self discipline. Kokoro Mixed Martial Arts International is passionately working toward bringing MMA gyms together under a single banner, promoting cross communication of training ideals, that continuously drive forward the evolution of best practice in associated gyms.
